Currently, I am a Nanny in Bellingham but my care will no longer be needed as the kids are entering school. I take care of 2 boys, 2 and 5. I provide care from 7:00 until 5:30 Monday through Friday. We have project/art time, park time or hiking, and we love going to the library. I provide transportation for the oldest to and from school. I believe Tv time should be minimal and the parents agree time should be spent learning and exploring. I love watching children grow and learn new things. I have always enjoyed caring for others. It takes a lot of patience but the end result is always worth waiting for. Their smiles and joy are what keep me going. Working with the parents to help shape their futures is very rewarding. In the eyes of a child the world is so large and full of wonderful and new things to explore. It's such a joy to work with little ones. Even during the "terrible twos" you can see them working out the problems and learning how to make choices all on their own. My favorite time of the day is when they are snuggling up with me to read. I have been employed with this family since September of last year. Before moving here from Pennsylvania, I worked as a live-in caregiver for 3 mentally disabled women. I was also trained as an EMR (emergency medical responder) and certified in CPR. I can easily multitask and keep a schedule but am not overly firm. I believe kids should enjoy life and try new things.
