I’m a single parent of 2 kiddos ages almost 4 and 10. I have over 20 years experience working as a nanny, supporting families as a doula and LMT, and working in schools. I’m highly creative, empathetic, reliable, and I’m a great communicator. I have lots of experience with infants and toddlers including working with twins (newborn and up). I’m also comfortable working with special needs children. I currently work part-time as a para educator with a SPED adult transitional program and I am building a somatic coaching and education business (I teach stress-management and self-regulation skills and I’m happy to work with you and your kids on such things if you’d like that included!). I’m seeking occasional opportunities (date nights, weekends) where I can ideally bring one or both or my kids along. I’m happy to help out with cooking or household chores as well as walk dogs and Read more attend to pets. I can also plan fun activities to do with the kids! I love playing, reading, and interacting with kids and encouraging their creativity. My approach as a caregiver is very gentle but firm in maintaining appropriate guidelines, boundaries, and rules. I do my best to respond to children’s needs in an age appropriate manner that is focused on building and maintaining trust, connection, and mutual respect. I do not use time outs or other punishments, but instead use time-in where I help children regulate, calm down, problem solve, find accountability, and repair damage if necessary. I help children practice appropriate, safe, and considerate behaviors when they need redirecting. When I care for babies I use an attachment approach with a lot of cuddling, nurturing, and close, consistent contact.
