I grew up in large family with many younger cousins I came to watch over throughout the years. In more recent years, I cared for two of my nieces (beginning at 2-3 months, oldest is now 5 years) on a rather regular basis (3-4 days a week). Also, I have been working as an on-call child care provider for a physician's assistant when she is on her call time caring for her 4-year-old daughter. This job includes waking her up and getting ready for the day, making meals, creating activities/learning opportunities, picking up from school when necessary, bathing/maintaining cleanliness, putting to bed, and other responsibilities that come with an authority figure when a parent is not around. I occasionally will babysit for cousins of mine with small children or friends of my family that are looking for someone who is available.
