Ever since I became an older sister in 2006 I have loved looking after and caring for children. I love how lively and entertaining the children can be. I love being able to make them laugh and have fun and interact with them and their imaginations. Growing up I helped in my church's nursery with the infants as well as toddlers. I also volunteered at my church's youth camp during the summer in which I helped look after groups of kids varying in groups from 1st grade through 5th grade. I watched over them, led them through activities as well as took them from one location to another while ensuring to keep the group safe as well as together. I also babysat for a family’s year and a half old. I would change his diaper, give him a bath, have play time indoors and outdoors, put him down for naps Read more as well as to bed for the night, made him meals and snacks. I believe what sets me apart from others is the way I’m able to build a bond with a child. Really listening to them when they talk and going with the stories they tell me. Asking the children questions to hear them explain their point of view and their thoughts on things. Making sure they keep that sense of spark and their imagination running around me and never shutting the children down. I’m a gentle, thoughtful and caring person who has always loved spending time with kids and giving them one more person they can rely on and trust.
