I was a Nanny/Cook for 4 children for 4 yrs. We had a wonderful time staying active with arts, games, physical activities and outings to parks and museums. I believe children want to be capable, self motivated and co-operative. Each child is unique in their verbal, physical, creative and behavioral skills. I take time to watch, learn and listen to each child to give them the respect they deserve for who they are, what they are interested in and how they prefer to interact. I let the child lead during free play, allowing them the time and space to experiment, learn and grow from their experiences. During play, I talk with the child using a variety of words to help with vocabulary. I also give enthusiastic positive reinforcement to behaviors that are wanted to keep the child safe, happy and helpful. I enjoy being playful and interactive with children to demonstrate that I value their “world” as important and interesting. I will model appropriate behavior by listening to them and using kind language. This approach helps to develop children’s trust and co-operation. I believe in enforcing firm, consistent and fair boundaries with natural consequences and explanations the child can understand. I realize a child will push against specific boundaries until they understand and make it part of their daily habits and routines. For more challenging behaviors, I believe in time outs as long as the child has a basic understanding of why they were put in a time out and that they know the time out will come to an end in a reasonable amount of time (young children only need a few minutes). I enjoy talking about different foods, explaining why some foods are good for our physical health and some foods are not so good. I find that if the child can be a part of the meal preparation they are more likely to be interested in eating the meal. I respect each child’s food likes and dislikes while still introducing new foods, knowing children’s food preferences will change over time. I keep myself physically and mentally healthy so I can handle the amount of energy it takes to interact with children while also keeping the house under control. Clear communication with parents is important. My goal is to be helpful. If there is something I am doing wrong, I would rather know so I can address the problem. I am new to this Website and am waiting for my referrals to be posted. I am happy to share my referrals with you.

I have always loved working with kids because they bring joy, excitement, and imagination to the world. I love how kind and curious children are and I think they can teach us a lot. My sister and I had our own summer daycare from when I was 12 years old to about 16 years old. This was my first job and I loved it more than anything. From then on I knew what my life's calling was. Now, I am going to school at Western, studying Elementary and Special Education to be a teacher! I have worked in multiple elementary and SPED classrooms in my hometown and have been a temporary Paraprofessional for a student with Down Syndrome. I am also first aid and CPR trained for both children and adults.

My name is Violet and I am an early childhood educator! I have been working with kids for over two years but have been babysitting since I was 12, and am 24 now. I love the outdoors, art, and music. I love growing my own food and gardening. I am constantly delved into an art project, primarily crochet. I am a former music education student at WWU, focusing on vocal performance. Teaching is one of my greatest passions, and I truly believe that this next generation is going to be the great future of the world. I do not have a drivers license at this time so I rely on public transit to get around.

Hadassah W., Nanny in Custer, WA 98240 with 8 years of paid experience

My name is Hadassah, I am a college graduate and have been married to my wonderful husband for a year and a half. I‘ve lived in Portland for about a year and am happily looking for a family I can help through childcare. I love children and have been babysitting off and on since I was about 12. I have always been able to connect quickly with kids and love how imaginative they can be, I can keep up with the energetic ones too! I also love dogs and am available for house cleaning as well. I was a nanny for 5 kids ages 3-10 this last summer, they loved my fun spirit and flexibility. I went to Africa for 5 months and watched over a 4 month old, 2, 4, 6, and 8 year old every day (and overnights). I’ve also had occasional babysitting gigs with several families, reoccurring. I am comfortable with infants- feeding, changings, etc, and love this stage! Toddlers are my favorite I’d say, as they’re in their learning phase and love to play! I am experienced with nap and bed time routines and meal prep as well. I like taking strolls to the park to get out energy and have fun. Playing in backyards, going on errands, libraries, and doing outdoor games is fun too if possible. For others, I enjoy reading, dancing, and watching a movie every once in a while, playing with toys, coloring, and crafts too. Anything that grows them into their personality!

Stephanie S., Nanny in Custer, WA 98240 with 2 years of paid experience

Hi, I'm Stephanie :) I’ve always loved working with kids, and I make it my goal to create a fun, safe, and engaging space for them. I’m all about being silly, singing songs, and playing games to keep things fun and interactive! At the same time, I know how important it is to help kids understand and work through their big emotions in a kind and supportive way. Watching little ones grow, learn, and show off their unique personalities is what makes this job so special to me. Right now, I work in childcare while I prepare for grad school to become a speech-language pathologist. I’m especially passionate about language development and love working with toddlers as they start to find their voices. Before childcare, I worked as a costume character performer at Legoland, where I got to bring kids’ favorite characters to life and make magical moments happen every day. That experience taught me how to connect with children, spark their imaginations, and create a welcoming and playful environment. With experience in both home and childcare center settings, I always strive to make kids feel safe, happy, and supported. My goal is to give parents peace of mind while making sure their little ones have a great time. I’d love to meet your family—feel free to reach out!

I am a nurturing loving mother, auntie, godmother. I love children of all ages. I believe each age has its own special milestones. My first job as a 15 year old was at a daycare. I worked there for 3 years and enjoyed it so much. Later in years I moved to Washington and was a nanny for twin babies. This was such a fulfilling and fun job. I will bring much love, affection and fun to your little ones 💛
