I have experience as a nanny for over 4 years as a I was a nanny during my undergraduate career as a college student. I currently want to go back to nannying full time because I am going back to school in the summer and would like to have a job that is lower stress than working with 100 patients a month and/or working a graveyard shift. I am going back for my Masters degree which should take 1.5 years-2 years so that would be my ideal stay. I am currently a part time nanny for a two year old girl. My current duties include: light household work, diaper changes, prepping meals, putting the baby down for a nap/waking up, reading books, getting outdoor time, and age appropriate activities. For the most part we will go to the park and play for our activity but given the weather if it’s Read more too rainy, we will go somewhere like Defy Gravity and bounce on trampolines or a baby gym. I am currently CPR/BLS certified and take child safety seriously and communicate any potential concerns I see. For example, one time I saw the baby playing with an outlet and continually running back to it during the day so I suggested baby proofing the outlets. In addition to CPR certified, I have take other medical courses for first responders. I also have taken courses in managing toddler emotions to prepare for one day down the road that I have a child of my own . At the end of each day, I will give a “pass down” of anything I found off as far as appetite/stomach issues, amount of times baby pooped and overall, the baby’s attitude/energy. I have also been a youth sports coach for over 8 years working with teams of kids as young as 5 years old. Coaching kids has taught me a lot about patience and the different ways kids are learning and receptive to instruction. Thank you for your consideration.
