A few statements on my nannying style: - I don't like to use of much/any screen time during the day, so that kids can use imagination and hands-on experiences. - I like to integrate the concept of actions and consequences (good and bad) so kids learn to stop and think about how their actions affect themselves, others, and the world. - I like to give children age-appropriate responsibilities/duties to start creating a sense a pride and independence. - Teaching about being appreciative and grateful for for what you have, and understanding wants vs. needs is a big thing for me. - I focus on developmental milestone and work on small steps to achieve those goals in the best way for individual children. - I follow through on what I tell children (whether that be a reward, consequence, or what have you). This creates trust and security between all of us, something I truly aim to create with a family. I consider my nanny style to be firm, but fair. - I start to introduce more structured academics around 2-2.5 years old, but will always incorporate Montessori style activities throughout the days. - Cooperation and communication between parent and nanny is ESSENTIAL to creating the best atmosphere for children.
