I’ve spent time with kids ages 3 to 14, helping out with schoolwork like math, reading, writing, social studies, and art but also making sure there’s time for outdoor breaks, crafts, creative play, sensory activities and even a little Spanish. I first got into childcare because I wanted to understand kids better and prepare myself for being a mom one day. Even though I’m still pretty new in this field, it’s taught me so much. I’ve become more patient and empathetic not just with kids but parents too. Also, I’ve learned to better understand how kids think, react and feel. Childcare can be challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. I love chatting with kids, hearing their funny questions, and seeing their imagination in action (where else do you get asked what your favorite ice cream flavor is and end up in a serious debate about which one’s truly the best?). I’m patient, caring, and try to adjust to each kid’s personality and needs. I like to mix learning with creativity and fun, so kids feel comfortable and encouraged. Hello, I'm Natalie. When I was ten years old my family moved to Malawi Africa and for eight years I was gifted with the opportunity to serve local families in the village where we lived. I assisted in any capacity I could from syringe feeding malnourished newborns, to hand washing laundry, and helping with meal's. I would plan "party nights" where all of the children from the village would come to eat a meal and have a dance party. When my family returned to America I pursued a career in the medical field. After four years as an EMT I really started to miss working with kids. I missed the imagination, the joys, and the wonder, I missed when everything was new and an incredible discovery. So I decided to pursue becoming a doula. I love it so much! It's such a gift to be there for the birth of new life! Watching children grow and become their own person is one of the greatest miracles on this earth and I am so lucky to be a part of that journey!
