Hi I am Perdita, I worked as a care-provider for 15 years and was fully certified during that period. I did deal with mostly with total care children, but also had two very high functioning boys and two others, with siblings who had fragile x syndrome . Working with disabled children required learning to become sensitive to their unspoken needs, as they couldn't communicate as well as staying calm in crisis events, as they had seizure issues. I am quite willing to update my CPR and first aid credentials. I also babysat as a young mother for two separate families. One was an infant that I watched for about a year. I took a break from care providing to write and illustrate a wonderful children's book, "The Word Garden" in 2009. I have also raised 3 children and have an adorable granddaughter, with another one on the way. I can provide excellent references from my clients and employer. I do know that nothing matter more than giving children the love and care that they need, especially in the early years.
