I essentially fell into caregiving and then fell in love with it. Growing up as the eldest of three girls, I was often put in the babysitting role in our family, and as I was one of the oldest girls on our block, I often babysat in our neighborhood too. When I was 14 years old, the Youth Minister at our church had me work as the Youth Leader. What that meant was that I was to take the kids outside and play games with them that typically pertained to that week's Bible portion. After playing outside, we'd go inside and do arts and crafts, coloring, and maybe watch a related episode of VeggieTales. At 18 years old, I held my first official Nanny job for a 10 year old boy and we just had a blast together. I picked him up from school in the afternoons, brought him home, Read more made sure he had a healthy snack, got his homework done, and then played games and had a good time until his mother came home from work. Since then, I've graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and I've found that I really miss being a nanny.
