Hello, I’m an adult college student (early childhood education). I’m committed, kind, qualified, communicative, compassionate, intelligent, genuine and can adjust to the situation at hand. I find children fascinating. My core belief is that all children have special gifts and talents- it’s our job as the adults to nurture and support while helping them find their way. Favorite ‘kid’ activities: making children laugh, fort building, reading, baking cookies, getting dirty/wet/etc - especially at the beach, crafts, nature walks (you’d be surprised how much life is under a rock in the alley behind your home), legos, puzzles, make-believe anything, creating stuff with ‘what’s at hand’. For older kids: bigger projects, debates, science experiments, homework help, etc - just as fascinating. I raised a precocious child that is now on college I have a special interest in early literacy, learning disabilities, and special education (my daughter is severely dyslexic) Experience: Dec 2019-current, Read more weekly part time (boys now almost 7, 3 1/2; 7 month old girl). In addition, I work with a handful of families providing back up care and date-night coverage. I’ve owned a large pet sitting business (13 yrs), a cafe (2 yrs), worked at Nordstrom Kids (3 yrs), professional nanny total of 4 years. Special Educatikn Advocacy (7 yrs). I was a lifelong’Ballardite’ until I moved on my boat on Lake Union a couple years ago, (my granddog mini schnauzer loves to visit, but is wary of geese)!
