I am a Seattle local who loves the great outdoors and using her imagination. I have many years of experience working with different aged children. I grew up as the oldest of four daughters and 24 grandchildren. I worked my way through college as a nanny, and spent the summers teaching in migrant schools. I graduated from Seattle Pacific University after completing their elementary education program. I have worked for different elementary schools and pre-schools. I have a strong background and understanding of early childhood development. I left Seattle and lived for a short while in Honolulu, Hawaii. We moved for my souses job and at that time and I decided to try something a little different. I joined the hospitality industry and began working for the largest Hilton hotel worldwide: Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort. I began my journey their as a front desk lead, and took the opportunity Read more to become the Recreation Supervisor when it opened up. Each week I would guide children from all over the world to discover new wonders that the island held. We would go to the beach, pool, aquarium, zoo, Bishop Museum, and Children’s Discovery center. Teaching is in my heart and I delight in watching children learn to love new things. I also have a passion for the Pacific Northwest and my community. I am familiar with “toddler times”, library and bookstore story times, the Woodland Park Zoo, the Seattle Aquarium, the many Seattle parks and their free activities, Seattle Children’s Museum, Children’s Theatre, and more. I am more than happy to include these things in our activities or take any classes that you would like us to do. Baby dance tummy time, baby/child yoga, swimming lessons, or anything that you’d like. I also am a life-long learner. If there is a good book that you would like to read together and discuss I would greatly enjoy that. I am very comfortable around your furry family members as well. I have a small dog of my own that has been a companion for the last 6 years. I do not have any pet allergies. In my off time you can find me out enjoying many of Seattle’s delicious restaurants. I continue to fill my weekends with epicurean adventures! I love to hike, bike ride, and paddle board. In the summer I try to get out and going camping as much as possible. Visiting the Hoh Rain forest was a big highlight last year. I also enjoying traveling. I have a passport and have put it to great use. I’d love to trade travel tales with you. Ideally I am looking for a long term nanny position or elementary school aged group share; where we can work closely together. I will be helping care for your most precious and tiny family members, and want you to have peace that they are being nurtured with the utmost care. I would hope to feel like a welcome member of the family and help fill your home with love, food, laughter, music, and light. I want there to be strong open communication and will gladly fill out daily forms of what we’ve been up to, eaten, bathroom routine, and a daily picture. My first aid certification expired this past summer, but I am willing to go renew it. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
