I took the Red Cross Babysitting course at 13, the MOMENT I was eligible, and I've been sitting/nannying ever since! I love kids, and really "get" them. For my own children, I study and utilize multiple approaches, such as Love and Logic and 1,2,3 Magic to help meet them where they are. I am a good cook, and love cooking with kids. I enjoy the mantra "when toddlers are cranky put them in water..." I love to play, and create age appropriate "work" for children. Kids take pride in productivity, just as we do. They are fully capable at a very young age, of "helping" with tasks such as making beds, cleaning up toys and helping with laundry and dishes, and I fully expect that they do! It takes us 10x longer to do those tasks WITH their "help", so please expect that... :) I believe that, as parents and Read more care givers we are "growing adults", so my every task and response is geared toward that end. I expect a lot from the children I care for, and they LOVE TO ACHIEVE!!! I am infant and child, adult, first aid and AED certified. FBI fingerprinted, background checked and ride share certified for children including a defensive driving certification. Currently licensed foster parent in Washington State.
