Experienced nanny with a high-focus on building healthy attachment styles by creating a predictable environment, guiding emotional and mental development. While I do incorporate a lot of learning into our play from neuroscience books I've read, I prefer to keep it fluid and still allow the child to be a child. I follow a Montessori approach, so I don't feel comfortable forcing learning or being rigid with the methods. Particularly with toddlers, I allow them to take the lead through their interests to develop their independence and need for autotomy. This empowers them to manage nonnegotiable rules and boundaries with less meltdowns; in other words, we're building the foundational skills for compromising. WFH Families Unfortunately, I am not a good fit for this environment I have worked with lovely families and even then, found my introverted temperament type gets exhausted integrating into the nuances of a family dynamic.

Hi, my name is Bahia, I am 34 years old and I have my master's degree in marriage, family, and child counseling. For the past 7 years I have been a nanny, splitting my time between multiple families, almost all of whom have had at least two children ranging from 3 months old to 7 years old. Before nannying I worked at an autism center for 5 years, first as a behavior therapist, and eventually as a clinical supervisor. Saving my best experience for last, I am the proud mama to a sweet boy who was born in March 2021. I am currently looking for a part time job that I can bring my son to, or date night/weekend jobs when I can leave my son with his dad if needed. I have been bringing my son to work with ume since he was 6 months old, so he is very used to it. I will not favor my child while on the job, I see this as a great way to teach him to share toys and attention with other children. In highschool, I took a couple classes. My 9th grade year, I took a class called "Learning About Children". That pretty much taught us everything about babies aged newborn-3 years old. It was the type of class that we took care of a babydoll for a week and got graded on it. My 10th grade year, I took a class called "Working With Children". This is where we put everything we learned to use. We had an actual day care in our school and we worked directly with those children. The day care was in the same class room we learned in. We created lesson plans for our kids and were really hands on every day. I didn't pursue child care after high school. However, my love of taking care of people didn't fade. I opted for direct patient care as a Dialysis Technician. This has equipped me with the basic knowledge for emergencies as well. I am trained in Adult and Children First Aid/CPR/AED. I now work for Penwizard, which is a company that makes personalized children's books. I run the customer service end and manage all reseller orders. This has equipped me with all sorts of Peppa Pig, PAW Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, LEGO knowledge I need. ;)
