I've always had a good rapport with small humans. The environment we provide them, the models we give them for how to interact with the world, the messages we send about what's important, how to handle setbacks, how to care for one another--these are so important. I started babysitting in my early teens, continued on to become a day camp counselor, spent 20 years in the public school system as a parapro. My experience with the schools includes work with all ages as well as with many special needs populations-- autistic, physically impaired, cognitively impaired, among others. I am happy to provide other services (rate changes apply), such as homework help, aka tutoring (99th percentile SAT's graduated cum laude from Bryn Mawr College), pet care, and household support. I am looking for the flexibility of schedule that supports making art. That said, I would be delighted to build a steady Read more permanent relationship in the right situation. Please keep in mind that as of October 2019, I am subbing as a classroom aide in the schools working 7 hour days at about $25/hour. It then follows that switching that up for a 4-hours per day 5 days per week at $20 probably won't work for me. Of course, I'd be delighted to help out on date nights, and if you have a need for one or two days a week, please check if it will work-- it might be just what I'm looking for to allow me studio time during the other part of that day.
