Hello, I am a 30+ year preschool teacher and summer/vacation nanny. Before I became a parent, I was a nanny to four different families after hours and weekends in exchange for partial rent. When my child was born, I was a nanny for 2 1/2 years with her and children of other families, working for approximately five families during that time. When I returned to work as a preschool teacher, I continued to do babysitting on evenings, weekends and vacations. In recent years, I’ve been a summer nanny to two different families for short periods, and have begun babysitting again more regularly now that my child is older. I love making up creative games with children using loose parts and reinventing cherished games in a new way. I make sure to expose children to lots of exercise time and get creative with exercise on rainy days. I also find it Read more valuable to have lots of sensory play with children (playing with Play-Doh, water, sand, etc.) so that they can use that time to relax/reset themselves. I do my absolute best to net work closely with parents around the issues that are most important to them, and to honor all their request for routines, discipline, and household agreements. I have experience working with ESL communities for seven years plus, worked with special needs children who are nonverbal and older than toddler age, and have worked with children who communicate using Signed Exact English and had cochlear implants. I also speak some French and beginning Spanish. I really love working with children!

Rebecca sat for my 4 and 7 year old kids for an evening. She was communicative, professional and reliable. The kids were very comfortable with her as soon as she arrived. She has clearly spent a lot of time with children. I would highly recommend Rebecca!

We loved having Rebecca take care of our 2.5 year old this summer. She is very reliable, highly experienced, and sincere. My daughter who usually has a hard time adjusting to strangers felt extremely comfortable with Rebecca almost instantly. Rebecca brings a wealth of early childhood knowledge and first hand experience, she provides appropriate developmental activities (sensory, reading, voices, lots of hands on activities) and stimulating experiences (walks to the park climbing, storytelling). My daughter has a wonderful time with her everyday and looks forward to seeing her every morning. Rebecca is very respectful of the parents' choices, schedules and very communicative. She will be an asset to any family she works with and I wish my daughter could have spent more time with her.
