I have fifteen plus years in childcare as a nanny, babysitter, toddler teacher, and Playland Attendant. Specializing in infant and toddler care. I have a natural ability/instincts to read a child's body language and cues to figure out what they need when they are non verbal. I believe that children do best on a schedule and daily routine. My childcare experience began at Fred Meyer as a Playland Attendant caring for up to seven children between two and five years. When the children where in my care we read books, played with toys, and did art and crafts. During this time I was also a part-time nanny for two children starting when the older one was three months old and and when he was three he became a big brother to a baby girl who I started caring for when she was three months old. When they where babies I Read more kept them on a eat, sleep, wake/play cycle. As they transitioned into toddler-hood I transitioned them into a daily routine of meals, snacks and naps about the same time each day. During free time between meals and nap we enjoyed going out on adventures to parks and walks around the neighborhood or playing outside. After 12 years of working as a Playland Attendant I became a toddler teacher at Bothell Daycare and Preschool. I cared for up to twelve toddlers between 14 and 36 months, planning curriculum with a theme of the week with art or sensory activities and rotating toys in the classroom to correspond with the theme, potty training and maintaining a clean organized classroom. After five years of working at Bothell Daycare and Preschool I became a young toddler teacher at Northgate Early Learning Center caring for up to seven one year olds (12 to 24 months). As a young toddler teacher I planed curriculum, sleep train for naps, teach the children to self feed using a spoon or fork. Being a toddler teacher for five years I verbalize everything I do and what is happening next and teach through play. Example when playing with blocks I will count them and say what colors they are. For the past three years I have been a full time nanny for a three year old girl and her bother who is thirteen months old. I have taught them ABC's numbers and counting, colors, self feeding. After fifteen plus years in childcare I take what I have learned and experienced as a teacher to the children in there own home where I can teach them as well as truly bond with them.
