Greetings! My name is Katie and I am a 29 year old childcare provider, originally from the Wisconsin/Minnesota area. I have 5+ years of private childcare experience, with a speciality for children 3-36 months. I am Red Cross CPR certified and Lifeguard Pool certified, with infant cpr and choking response training. I am also an experienced care provider for elderly and disabled individuals, with the ability to pass thr highest state level background checks required for state IRIS care programs. I am an experienced house and pet sitter and have 6+ years of housekeeping experience, in addition to performing these duties as part of most of my longterm childcare clients. I have a clean driving record and I am willing to perform a background check at the request and expense of interested families. I am a hands on and dedicated provider, with emphasis on supporting a child's natural curiosity and Read more desire to explore the world. Routines and activities vary based on individual families and children, but I try to incorporate daily music learning/exposure, daily exposure to Spanish Language materials, daily physical exercises/activities according to developmental stage, and daily work on fine motor and other developmentally appropriate skillsets. I view my role as one of supporting, encouraging and facilitating a well rounded, loving and positive environment for children and families. I work best in environments where there is open communication and mutual respect between families and provider, and where I am allowed to work independently while still operating within a larger team/staff/family structure. I prefer a consistent schedule for long term clients and require that all clients have at least one back up care provider in the event of my illness/injury where I feel unable to provide adequate care. I require the ability to take time off (unpaid or otherwise) with advanced notice. I generally provide at least 1 month, if not 3+ months notice for any planned leave. I generally take 2 vacation periods in a standard year, however for the right client I can be more flexible or reduce that for the first year of care. I am open to short term and long term clients. Letters of reccomendation and references upon request, after initial interview/discussion to see if it is a good fit. Out of respect for my former clients, I only provide references for seriously interested families. I am looking for positions in the NYC metro area.
