My 5-month-old dachshund is still a puppy, so he needs regular care and supervision while I’m away. He should be fed on schedule, have fresh water at all times, get potty breaks every few hours, daily play/exercise, and lots of attention. Since dachshunds can be prone to back issues, please avoid rough play or letting him jump on/off furniture. He’s friendly and energetic, but still learning, so patience and consistency are important.
