I have a 5 month old Doberman named Nyx (about 47 lbs.) who needs to be walked mid-day when I am not able to leave the office.
She is highly energetic but knows her commands.
I would ask that she be let out into the backyard to "go pee" before going for a walk as that is our routine when I return home from any outing. Then once she goes, please give her a treat and a celebration. We are working on leash training and she is making progress each day. I use a harness for support. She takes well to positive reinforcement (praise and treats). She will stop and look at distractions. I just let her observe for a few seconds and call her name. I'm working on keeping her to the left of me and not running. I would also ask for someone to play with her and tire her out. I have a decent sized back yard and space near the home for fetch.
Someone with previous dog experience and a high level of patience is needed. Thank you for reading!
