We have a sweet but anxious and energetic family dog who is trained but needs more consistent application of training principles to burn energy and keep the training fresh in his mind. This family has a small child that takes up most of our time and attention and we need help to continue working on an established training program to help our anxious boy work on skills. We use mainly no-force methods but after extensive training with this method it is clear our strong-willed boy needs some gentle correction to be successful. Approach includes prong collar for gentle cueing, positive reinforcement with treats, clicker training, desensitization to sounds and proximity. Dog is a rescue mutt with jack russell terrier in the mix. We have an enclosed yard in a residential area. He cannot be walked in this area due to reactivity to bikes, other dogs, and vehicles.
