My names Cherise and I am 29 years old. I'm originally from England but came to America to be an au pair and was living with a wonderful family and their three kids for 2 whole years. The youngest being 3 months when I started with them, it was definitely hard to say goodbye. I have also been a nanny for 2 kids (4 months and 2.5 at start) for 1.5 years. And I am currently a nanny for 4 kids, primarily caring for the 12 month old. Before I came to America, I successfully completed my qualification in early childcare education and I then went on to work in a daycare for 2 years. This means I have lots of experience with kids from 3 months to 6 years. Babies being my absolute favourite age, watching them grow and learn and change so much is incredibly rewarding. During this Read more time that I have worked with children, I have set up activities with the kids that help engage them as well as develop their skills and confidence. Having been in daycare and home environments means that I am familiar with routines and the differences in every child, and in every age,and how all children learn and achieve differently. What works for one child might not work for another so getting to know the child is important and helps create a special bond. I have also taken first aid courses whilst I was in the daycare and while preparing to be an au pair so I am comfortable with first aid in children, even babies. I'm a happy, caring and reliable person and I love spending time with children I'd also consider myself a creative person, painting, baking cookies, making stuff with the children or just singing and dancing around with them. I may not be the best at drawing or dancing, but I still enjoy getting involved and joining in with them anyway.
