Hello, there! My name is Lemuria, and I have over ten years experience in child care. My educational background includes receiving my B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Louisiana State University A&M, as well as a Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorders from The Chicago School. I began my journey working in child care during my high school years, where I learned I enjoyed working in pediatric populations. This interest blossomed during my time as an undergraduate student, during which I worked as a peer mentor at youth centers and an aftercare teacher for the YMCA in the greater Baton Rouge area. During my final year of undergraduate studies, I entered into the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and began my engagement with children on the Autism spectrum. I furthered my education in the field of ABA, Read more and completed my masters degree in 2024. Some skills I have gained through all of my endeavors include engaging with children patiently and compassionately, problem solving, time management, scheduling, and instruction implementation. My professional experience includes working in academic, clinical, home, and community settings. I have maintained active CPR and Basic Life Support certifications, and have extensive training engaging with individuals who are non-verbal and may need crisis management care.
