Hi! I’m Ashlyn, I'm 18 years old and graduating high school in May 2026. I come from a big family and am the oldest of six children, with ages ranging from 16 down to 1 year old. Growing up in that environment has given me a lot of hands-on experience with children of all ages. I genuinely love working with kids and being part of their growth, whether that’s helping them learn, playing with them, or simply being someone they feel safe and comfortable around. I have several years of experience volunteering at a summer camp through SADD, where I worked closely with kids in group settings. I’ve also helped at other SADD events involving children. In addition, I volunteered at my stepmother’s daycare over the summer, where I gained experience supervising, engaging with, and caring for younger children in a structured environment. While I don’t have extensive professional experience Read more yet, I have a younger brother who is autistic, and I’ve spent a lot of time caring for and babysitting him. Through that, I’ve developed strong patience, understanding, and the ability to adapt to different needs and situations. I love doing arts and crafts, reading, and coming up with fun, creative activities to keep kids engaged. I also enjoy helping children learn new things, whether that’s through play, schoolwork, or everyday experiences. I think it’s really special how kids can learn from us, and we can learn from them too.
