Hello there! My name is Mariam, and I am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in Biology. I am on the pre-medical route and hope to go into pediatric medicine. That being said, above all I am a big sister to 3 siblings. I have always been driven towards caregiving from a young age, especially after being around my younger siblings and helping my parents care for them. I am also a Sunday School teacher at my church for 2nd graders, and I very much enjoy teaching them and making connections with them on a personal level. I have been doing this for multiple years, including tutoring my kids, giving them lessons, coordinating "fun days" for the kids, teaching them songs, etc. My church consists of mostly immigrants who work long hours, so on off days, I offer to tutor kids with their homework when their parents are busy at work. Read more I also create crafts for the kids and games. I absolutely love participating with them in their fun ventures. Above all though, these kids have become a part of my life, and I like to think that we have a very close relationship. I have been a caregiver in multiple forms for many years, for several age groups. I have given care for ages 3-95 years old. Most recently, I have been a Patient Care Technician in a hospital, where I care for all ages for 12-hour shifts. That being said, I am CPR certified and medically trained for hazards. I am also a teaching assistant for college students; therefore, I have experience with a multitude of ages. I am also a medical assistant in a dermatology office for all ages and have formed great interpersonal skills through work. Every day, I care-give to my younger siblings, including cooking, helping with homework, helping with outfit changes, driving them around, etc. I LOVE to bake and cook in my free time. I spend most of my free time watching cooking/baking videos and making new recipes multiple times every week. I have some vegan options up my sleeve as well. I also like to go on late night drives or walks with my friends/family during my free time. I spend a lot of my time with my dog and enjoy giving her belly-rubs and snacks. When I am feeling lazy, I binge watch Grey's Anatomy and Modern Family. Unfortunately, though, as an undergrad, I am usually using my time studying for exams and doing homework. However, I have an *easier* semester coming up and have freed up my schedule to take on some new adventures. I hope that you will consider me in caregiving for your children and forming a friendship with them!
