Hi my name is Kellyann, I have worked with children for over ten years in an array of positions as a after-school counselor, summer camp counselor, babysitter, nanny and family assistant. While in college, I simultaneously worked at an after-school care and summer camp program, progressing from counselor to assistant site coordinator, while also nannying and babysitting for multiple families. Balancing these roles allowed me to develop strong multitasking skills and deepened my passion for creating nurturing environments where children can thrive and grow into incredible individuals. Growing up I attended Montessori schools, and the Montessori philosophy of self-directed learning, hands-on activities, and a prepared environment to foster independence and love of learning, has continued to influence me as an adult. I would describe my childcare style as structured yet flexible. I thrive on organization and like to ensure that I am as prepared as possible for whatever comes our way, while embracing the spontaneity each day brings. I believe and have seen how children benefit from a predictable schedule, as it helps to build structure as well as a sense of security which provides an environment that allows their confidence to grow leading to essential mental, emotional and social development. I’m an advocate of teamwork, ready to step in when you need support, or step back when you wish to take charge. My positive and proactive attitude ensures that no task is too big. With my goal being to help raise kind, self-sufficient, and confident children, focusing on building their self-esteem through teaching age-appropriate life skills. I enjoy planning activities centered around childrens interests while also balancing structured activities with free play, fostering a love of learning that is in line with their current interests. I tailor our activities and outings to match these interests, ensuring an engaging and enriching experience for the children in my care. I enjoy working with children of all ages and find that each stage of development has its own rewards and opportunities for growth. I look forward to hearing from you!
