I started working as an Au Pair in 2010. My two-year experience as an au pair was challenging but tremendously rewarding. What I mean by challenging is I was taking care of 5 month old twin boys and a 3 y.o girl with special needs. I used to stay with them sometimes over 10 hours a day. I would do everything related to the kids, i.e: laundry, tidying up rooms, cooking their meals, bathing, driving them to appts, park and activities at the library and even administering the girl's medicine. After my au pair program finished I stayed with the same family as a live in nanny for another 4 yrs. I left the house when the boys were 6 y.o and the girl was 9 y.o. I graduated from college and started working with other families. I am currently working with a family with 3 kids - ages 5-9 Read more - and again all my duties are related to them: homework, doc's appt, cooking, bathing, driving to activities, morning routine. I like to take them to the parks nearby, library, extra activities and play board games. I also have 10 year experience as a teacher. I used to teach kids ages 3- 10 and teens. I like working with kids because as we teach them a lot of things, we can also learn a lot with them. That is a rewarding experience.
