I've been a career nanny since 1982 and have cared for more than 23 children in that time. I usually start when the child is a very young infant and stay until the baby is 7 to 13 months old but have stayed as long as 5 years. I have all clearances as well as being first aid/CPR/AED certified. I like to keep current with new information and advances in child care and education. After attending the University of Pittsburgh, I worked with a Norland trained nanny for 3 months in an in-home situation caring for a 4 year old and her 6 month old twin sisters. While I do not provide housekeeping services, caring for the baby's equipment and laundry are considered mandatory tasks undertaken by the caregiver.
