Hi there! My name is Juliette. I recently graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in English and creative writing and am now living in Galveston. I'm an experienced babysitter and love children of all ages and circumstances. I was raised in Jacksonville, FL and Milwaukee, WI. One of my greatest interests is dance. I took ballet lessons throughout my youth and was part of a drum and dance ensemble in college. I'm also a life-long bookworm, so while I recently finished my literature studies, reading, journaling, and writing poetry are still an important part of my daily life. Learning languages is another passion of mine. I studied French for several years in school and am currently learning Spanish. Finally, spending time outdoors and in nature is one of my favorite things to do – especially going to the beach, hiking, and camping. In the summer of 2022, I worked as a counselor at a daytime summer camp for ages 6-12. My duty there was to carry out a daily itinerary of activities for rotating groups of 7-15 children. I would learn the games, activities, and/or crafts listed on the schedule and subsequently teach them to children in groups of up to 40, readily helping in whatever manner or degree was needed. I also regularly supervised my group of campers on field trips. On a daily basis, I cleaned and organized large spaces. I had to be prepared each day to improvise games and activities and to handle challenges with children – helping them resolve conflicts or frustrations in a respectful and fair-minded way. Compassion, respect, and genuine care for every child were the imperatives that guided my actions. In my senior year of high school, I worked as a daily after-school nanny for 3 children. My responsibilities included preparing food, playing outdoors and indoors, devising games and activities, driving them to activities, helping with homework, and carrying out bedtime routines. I spent one school year as a weekly sitter for a family of 4 children, and over the course of three years, I worked with my sister to care once a week for a group of 5-8 children while their parents gathered for a Bible study. I am able to prepare meals and provide tutoring, and to fulfill transportation needs, housekeeping tasks, and pet care. I completed the Red Cross babysitter training and have received CPR/AED and first aid training.
