Hello there! My name is Haley and I’m super passionate about childcare. I come from a family of 4 kids so I learned how to babysit at a young age. I started casually watching my little sister when I was about 12 and have been working with children in some capacity ever since. When I was 13, I began my first long term babysitting job with a family of two little girls ages 1 and 3. I stayed with them until I went to college when I turned 18 and have been babysitting for them on breaks or whenever I’m home. I was part time, so primarily on weekends and during summers. It was an amazing experience because I was able to watch them grow up! I also got very close to their family. Around the same time I started with that family, I was picking up babysitting jobs within Read more my own extended family. My mom has 7 brothers and sisters so there are plenty of kids to babysit. When I was 13, I would pretty consistently babysit for my aunt and uncle who had children ages 7, 10 and 12. This has continued but now these children are old enough to babysit themselves and other children! One of them is graduating high school this year! I’ve always loved working with kids. I volunteered at a daycare center for low income families on the northside of Chicago my junior year of high school. In college, I volunteered in a New Orleans charter school tutoring children. I worked for the company Macaroni Kid for around 2 years that is an online newsletter with kid and family friendly events around New Orleans. They primarily advertise at baby and child expos so I’ve gotten to work with children through these events. When I am home in Chicago, my cousin has three children that I care for when I get a chance. My boyfriend’s family is very large and I have babysat for his niece and nephew (ages 3 and 1) many times. After college, I served a 12 month term as a Tulane Americorps VISTA partnered with a New Orleans education and recreation nonprofit. Now, i am currently the Grants & Gifts Associate for the Louisiana Bar Foundation. I do work full time, 9AM to 5PM during the week. I am available in the evenings and on weekends!
