I love working with children because I enjoy creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment where kids can be themselves, learn, and try new things. I especially enjoy getting to know each child's personality and finding activities that they genuinely enjoy. My experience as a camp counselor showed me how rewarding it is to build positive relationships with kids and be someone they can trust. I have experience working with children in both professional and personal settings. Most recently, I worked as a Camp Counselor at Walton's Grizzly Lodge, where I supervised and mentored campers ages 7-15, led activities, managed cabin groups, helped resolve conflicts, and maintained a safe and positive environment. I also have experience babysitting two children, ages 8 and 13, for a family friend. Additionally, I volunteered with library youth programs for several years, helping children from Spanish-speaking households practice reading in English and participating in educational Read more activities. I am CPR, AED, First Aid, and American Red Cross Lifeguarding certified. I am experienced in supervising children, maintaining safety, communicating with different personalities and age groups, resolving conflicts, and creating engaging activities. My camp experience also strengthened my ability to stay calm and responsible in unexpected situations. I am dependable, patient, attentive, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
