Kristen was hired to housesit for our family for five days, care for our three dogs, and deep-clean a bedroom belonging to another relative that had fallen into extremely severe condition. The room had what I would describe as hoarding-adjacent levels of clutter, along with significant sanitation issues. Belongings were piled nearly to doorknob height in a large section of the room, and essentially only a pathway from the door to the bed remained accessible. There was a strong sour odor that could be smelled from the hallway, and much of the room and its furniture could no longer be used normally. Kristen sorted through approximately 14 storage containers' worth of belongings and removed nine bags of trash and recycling. She organized what was kept into a simple, practical system that would be easier to maintain. By the end of the project, the floor was completely clear and the furniture was accessible and usable again. She also washed all of the laundry and linens, dusted and aired out the room, and repeatedly vacuumed and shampooed the carpet throughout her stay. When she saw that the water from the carpet cleaner was still coming up dirty, she continued working on it rather than stopping after a single pass. Despite this large task, the dogs were very well cared for. She found time to play with and exercise them and regularly sent us cute pictures and updates while we were away. Our dogs were clearly happy with her company, snuggling up in bed with her and not even letting her go to the bathroom in peace :) Also, although she was not hired to clean anything besides the bedroom, she also took the initiative to clean the kitchen counters and table and wash all of the dishes that had been left in the sink before we returned. We were very happy with everything she did for us and came home to a much cleaner space and three very happy dogs.
