I’ve had a lifelong connection with working with children, starting as the oldest of three and naturally stepping into the role of built-in babysitter for my younger siblings. Around age 14, I began babysitting for families in my neighborhood and volunteering at the YMCA’s child care center. I attended a summer camp where I later became a counselor-in-training, primarily working with toddlers. Over the years, I continued to babysit for family friends and eventually nannied for a family for a year—an experience that led to a close, lasting friendship.
