My name is Lizzy, I use she/her pronouns. I love nature, hiking, reading, watching women's soccer, and spending time with my spouse and our dog. As a queer woman with a nonbinary partner, I am looking to find a family to work for who is open and accepting to all. I have always loved kids and started babysitting in various capacities in middle and high school. Professionally, I worked with infants and young toddlers in the Early Childhood Program at Shalom Austin from 2011-2020. Since July 2020 I’ve nannied for a few different families with kiddos ranging from 5 months to 6 years old. During my time nannying, I’ve done everything from creating lesson plans with engaging activities to facilitating online/homeschool kindergarten. I have numerous training certificates in various areas from my time with Shalom Austin and have been certified in pediatric and adult CPR and first aid (my certification Read more expired in 2021, but I am willing to renew). I am fully vaccinated against Covid and maintain a fairly low level of exposure. When it comes to taking care of babies (and all kids, really) I’m all about encouraging child-led play, using baby signs, and supporting natural physical development to help foster their independence. I love coming up with developmentally appropriate activities for any kiddo, as well as setting up child centered play spaces to create a more engaging environment. Please note first: Lizzy has never actually looked after our kids, nor have we met in person. But I am basing my rating and this review on our extremely positive interactions with her leading up to and including a phone interview. We were very sad to miss out on the chance to have Lizzy as our caregiver, as she struck us as a responsible, caring, intelligent, and rock-solid person to have around our kids. She is thoughtful and articulate, and clearly has a passion for working with children and helping them be their best selves!
