Hi! I’m a mother of four girls (ages 8–14) and currently work as a 1:1 Instructional Assistant in a self-contained K–2 special education classroom in Wake County. I have extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of needs, including those who use hearing aids, AFOs, TLSOs, and g-tubes. I regularly use multiple communication methods such as basic ASL, visuals, core boaeds and AAC devices to connect with and support my students. I’m comfortable working with children who have varying levels of mobility and independence, and I always aim to promote autonomy while ensuring safety. One of my favorite parts of caregiving is designing personalized calming strategies and resources. I regularly use movement-based, multisensory activities to help children feel regulated, engaged, and confident. I truly love getting to know each child’s unique preferences, strengths, and communication styles — and building care plans that honor who they are.
