Hi! I’m DJ. I’ve spent the past 7 years working with children in nannying, babysitting, and live-in childcare positions, including with families in the US, Italy, Caribbean, New Zealand, and Australia. I’ve cared for children of different ages and worked in a lot of different family environments, from helping with everyday routines and school days to traveling with families and being fully responsible for the kids’ day-to-day care. I’m a very outdoorsy person and love bringing that into childcare whenever possible. I’ve spent the last few years building a background in outdoor education, guiding, and wilderness skills, including completing a NOLS semester in Patagonia and working as a hiking guide in New Zealand. I love getting kids outside and helping them feel comfortable and excited about being outdoors, whether that’s going on a hike, exploring a new trail, riding bikes, playing outside, swimming, or simply finding an adventure in the Read more backyard. I think some of the best parts of childhood come from having the freedom to explore, get a little dirty, and discover things for yourself. At the same time, I’m happy to slow things down for a rainy-day craft, reading, homework, cooking together, or a quiet afternoon at home. I’m responsible, active, easygoing, and really enjoy getting to know each child and finding activities that fit their personality and interests. I’m CPR/First Aid certified and have wilderness first aid and outdoor safety experience as well. I’m currently looking for regular childcare, occasional babysitting, date nights, or extra help for families. I’ll be in the area through December and have pretty open availability!
