Hello everyone my name is Delaney. I am a college student majoring in Human Services and working towards getting my certification as a Child Life Specialist. During the school year at work as a special education assistant and a registered behavior technician for an ABA company. I’ve been working with children for going on four years now and I can’t imagine doing anything else. I’ve learned so much. First be patient, as each child is different and has different needs. Second, to listen, children will tell you what they need if you’re willing to listen. It rarely comes out as easy to understand as you’d sometimes want, but if you pay attention and keep an open mind, they will communicate with you. Lastly, I learned not to be afraid to ask questions. It’s ok to not know things, what matters is that you care enough to find out.
