Hello! My name is Cristina Pietromonaco, and I am a dedicated, caring, and energetic educator with years of experience working with children from preschool through high school in both the United States and abroad. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Elementary Education, an endorsement in Computer Science, and a Bachelor of Science in STEM with minors in Italian and Spanish. I am certified in New York State Childhood Education Grades 1–6, am working toward my Bilingual Certification, and am Orton Gilingham trained to teach and tutor Phonics. I currently work as a First Grade Italian/English Dual Language Teacher for a class of 25 students at a public school in Brooklyn. My work involves planning engaging lessons, creating individualized learning plans, and communicating closely with families to support each child’s growth. In addition, I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds, including English language learners Read more and children with special needs, ensuring inclusive, supportive, and developmentally appropriate instruction. My childcare experience extends beyond the classroom. I have worked for numerous families with children of varying ages, providing not only attentive supervision in NYC and Milan, but also engaging educational activities, homework help, and fun, age-appropriate play. My approach blends warmth, structure, and creativity—I believe children thrive when they feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore. I am available to tutor or babysit occasionally or weekly in Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Nassau County. (I finish teaching every day at 2:20pm in Brooklyn.)
