Hi! I'm Carolyn, and I’m passionate about providing dependable, caring, and developmentally supportive childcare. I graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, where my studies included Child Psychology and adolescent behavioral development. I believe my background has given me a strong understanding of children's emotional, cognitive, and social needs, which I do my best to bring into every childcare role! My childcare experience began in high school with my first babysitting job caring for a family friend's 2-year-old. She was extremely energetic and curious, which helped me quickly learn how to entertain tiny minds with fun & engaging activities! Since then, my experience has grown to include a wide variety of ages, needs, and settings. During college, I worked for several years for a family with two girls, ages 8 & 12. Both had very different & unique needs. I helped with homework, transportation, meal Read more prep, day-to-day routines and sometimes by just lending a supportive ear. I also worked at a licensed home daycare during this time, where I helped supervise children ranging in age from infancy to 4-years old. My responsibilities included outdoor playtime/supervision, circle time for learning and development, creative activities, toilet training, meal prep, and everything in between! I gained valuable insight into early childhood development throughout this role, and most importantly - how to juggle the needs of multiple kiddos at once. After graduation, I worked full-time as a nanny for a family with three young children—ages 3, 1, and a newborn. I planned age-appropriate activities, prepared meals, and learned firsthand how often toddlers find their way into danger no matter the safeguards. Aside from long-term roles, I’ve also supported families with one-time care for date nights, weekends, etc. I pride myself on being reliable, warm, and adaptable. I truly enjoy helping children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow in their environments! When I’m not working, I enjoy staying active and giving back when I can. I’m an avid reader (typically sci-fi, fantasy, mystery/thriller!), a dedicated tennis player, and occasional volunteer for local aid groups and clean-up clubs around the city.
