I initially chose to start babysitting when I was in middle school because my neighbors wanted to go on a date night and I already knew the family, since then my babysitting and child care experience has grown immensely! Some key experience that I have had was starting my own Summer "Kids Camps" in 2020 and then continuing to host them out of my backyard in 2021 and 2022. At these camps I organized games, crafts, activities, and so much more to entertain the average of 15 campers that we had per session. The age ranges of campers that I hosted ranged from five to ten and we had about nine weeks of camp each Summer! In addition to my own Summer camps, I also formally worked at Camp Greystone, an all girls camp in Zirconia, NC. Here I was a cabin counselor with ten second grade campers for a Read more week! I also achieved First Aid and CPR training from Red Cross here as I was doubling as a lake lifeguard. Throughout high school I also held three nannying positions in the times I wasn't hosting camps. Two of these were my senior year: one family of two girls (ages 1 and 3) and one family of two boys and one girl (ages 5, 3, and 1). My last nanny position was during a summer from 8am-4pm and was a family of two boys (ages 7 and 5). Finally, in my time off I regularly babysat for families in my neighborhood and elsewhere. Overall, I have lots of experience with younger aged children but also love hanging out with middle school and even high school aged kids, as I am now finishing up my second year of college! I believe that my certifications and experience provide me and parents the assurance of engaging their kids in fun and new activities while maintaining a safe and age appropriate approach!
