I absolutely love helping people and making a difference to better thier lives, which betters my life because I feel fulfilled in how I choose to spend my time and effort. Being able to make a positive impact on childrens lives is an absolute gift in my opinion and I am so greatful to the parents who allow me to become a part of their childs life. I have experience in both full and part time work as a care provider for many families on and off for the last 25 years. I also have a 22yr old son with autism who is a high functioning college student. I also have experience with low functioning special needs children as well. Although I have a BA in accounting, I originally majored in early childhood development and education and minored in special needs when I first started attending community College. I ended Read more up changing my major in 2008 due to depleding teaching job opportunities. Although I have always wanted to be an early education teacher, I went into accounting to have better financial security obtaining employment. After working in the corporate field of accounting for the last 5 years, I felt very unfulfilled and want to persue employment as a care provider for my personal happiness. I have come to the conclusion that spending my time to help others and be a part of a child's life is more important and more satisfying for me at this time in my life. I also enjoy the daily tasks that come along with providing care, so I have experience cleaning and doing laundry as well as meal prep and running errands. As an animal lover, I also enjoy providing care for pets. I also have experience in homework help and tutoring. Although my certifications have not been renewed in many years, I did have both first aid and child/infant CPR certifications in the past.
