I am 18 years old, I just graduated high school and will be spending a year at NCMC, then transferring to GVSU! I love working with kids and am going into the children’s wellness social work field! I have been working around kids since I was 13! I have experience with special needs due to growing up with a special needs brother. I am CPR certified and willingly to get first aid certified as well! I have been babysitting the same family for the past 5 years, growing up along side their two boys. I also spent my mornings last spring volunteering at the Early Learners Building in Boyne City, working with 3 years olds! I have a lot of experience with special needs due to my brother having severe autism. I’ve helped my mother care for him my whole life and I have lots of patience for children like Read more him. Whether they are just mute, have ADHD, or have extreme autism, I understand everyone has their differences and I am very willing to learn how to support them! I enjoy taking the kids to the park and watching/playing with them on the playgrounds. I also enjoy going on walks, taking them swimming, and even just playing in the yard. Inside, I enjoy coloring with them, playing with legos, and even just going along with pretend play. Although I don’t have legitimate nannying experience, my favorite moment from my other family was both of the boys making me hand made cards for my graduation party and coming and giving me hugs. It melted my heart! The most important part of being a nanny in my opinion is having a great relationship with the children as well as the parents. Being able to have trust, respect, and support for all parties is very important when it comes to allowing someone to watch and keep children safe.
