Takiyah O.

We are from Louisiana and were in Chicago two weekends in a row a for back to back weddings. Takiyah spent four long evenings with my 14 month old daughter over both weekends for Fri. rehearsal dinners/ Sat. weddings. She had to travel 45 minutes to our location the first weekend and an hour the second and she was very prompt all 4 days. She was really wonderful with our daughter, who we had never left with a sitter before and had a bit of stranger danger. She was very patient, calm and gentle and when we returned, Lucy was always well fed and sleeping well- Takiyah was very good about sticking to our nighttime routine and getting her to bed on time. I was also appreciative she was available on somewhat short notice and was flexible about the time we returned home every night. It was such a relief to find such a reliable, quality sitter amidst the stress of lots of travel & activity for these wedding weekends- couldn't thank her enough. Highly recommend her and believe she would be good with many different age groups.

We traveled to Chicago last minute to attend a funeral and needed someone to watch our 2 and 4 year old boys for a few hours so that they would not be a disruption to the service. Takiayah came to our hotel and watched them in our room for a few hours. I could tell right away that she was very experienced in taking care of young children. She was so sweet and my kids felt at ease immediately. We were in a bit of a rush so she calmly told me not to worry about a thing and to get going so we would not miss the service. I was confident that she was more than capable to handle whatever came her way without needing much instruction. I was right. She sent me a few texts over the next couple hours showing my boys having a good time, and even one sleeping! There's nothing better than knowing your kids are being taken care of when you need to be away. I will absolutely call her again next time we are in town.

Takiyah first started working with my son when he was only a month old. We hired her for overnight care a few nights a week, then she transitioned to a mothers helper. When it was time for me to go back to work, I begged her to nanny for us even though we already had a spot with daycare. I can't express how wonderful my experience with Takiyah was! She is dependable, trustworthy, thoughtful, patient, kind, and my son absolutely adored her. I felt very confident leaving my son with her right away and knew he would be well taken care of. Takiyah always listened carefully to any instructions I gave regarding naps, bottles etc and followed through exactly how I had asked. There were many times when I had to ask her to stay late or come help on a weekend and she was always willing. Takiyah stayed with us until my son was 6 months old and we moved out of state. We wish we could've brought her with us!

Takiyah or also known as "Kiki" to our toddler son was fantastic!! She was able to watch our son on very short notice. She has a calm and professional demeanor and knows what kids need. We wouldn't hesitate in a second to ask her back!

Takiyah was a temporary nanny for our family while my stay-at-home-dad husband was out of town. Takiyah integrated into our family beautifully, providing exactly the support we needed. She was careful to ask for our preferences and was open to all of our requests, but also is experienced and mature enough to make suggestions/act upon her own initiative. In addition to providing fun for all my kids, ages 5, 10 and 14, (e.g. planning a movie party with popcorn on a day they were all home), she was able to also provide firm but loving discipline and seek input when needed. A total unexpected bonus -- she's an awesome cook! Thanks Takiyah! I rested so much easier knowing I could count on you. We will happily welcome her back when the next need arises. She also acted as a mother's helper for my best friend's family after of their kids had a serious surgery, and I know she was an absolute godsend -- cooking, running errands, and allowing mom to get some rest while Dad worked out of town.

We used Takiyah for a couple weeks while we were in Chicago for a work trip, and she was so great with our 14-month-old son. She was very professional and always on-time, and she is clearly experienced and comfortable with children. She wrote out detailed reports every time, which was amazing. She planned out fun activities and took our son to nearby parks whenever time allowed, but still always stuck to the schedule we gave her for meals/naps. She has a warm, sweet, and calm personality, and our son loved her (he usually has a bit of stranger-danger, but not with her!). We would absolutely use her again if/when we are in Chicago again!

Takiyah was wonderful for the two weeks that she looked after our 1 1/2 year old. She was with him from early morning until evening everyday and kept me updated through a google doc on everything that happened throughout the day. She prepared his meals and fed him according to our instructions and she planned fun age-appropriate activities for him. They did finger painting, played with felt, shells and she would bring something new for him to play with or do daily, so he didn't get bored. Takiyah is extremely reliable, kind and sweet natured and our son really enjoyed spending time with her (I usually stay home with him so this was a big change for him, but Takiyah made it as easy as possible) I would highly recommend her and wouldn't hesitate to use her again.

Our two year old is still asking about "Miss Kiki!" We were in town for a wedding, and not only did Takiyah keep John entertained, but they also tackled an arts and craft project. She had him asleep by 8:30, too! We will definitely be recommending her to our local friends, and won't hesitate to hire her again the next time we are in the area!
