Hi! My name is LaShaunda, but I go by Shaunna. I’ll be turning 32 this year, and I’m a former early childhood educator with a teaching career that began in 2014, specializing in preschool education through 2021. During those years, I developed a deep love for nurturing young children’s growth; academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to teaching, I’ve volunteered with organizations supporting refugee children in need as well as children affected by abuse, experiences that strengthened my compassion, patience, and trauma-informed approach to caregiving. I stepped away from the classroom to focus on becoming a mother, a role that deeply shaped both my personal life and professional path. Through motherhood, I felt called to support families in a more holistic way and became a certified full-spectrum doula, helping families prepare emotionally, physically, and mentally for the birth of their child. From 2022–2024, I also worked closely with children and Read more adults with special needs, including autism, while running my own doula business—further strengthening my ability to provide individualized, empathetic, and patient care. While I’m not ready to return to a traditional classroom setting, I’m excited to share my passion for early learning again—just as I do while homeschooling my preschool-aged son. Our finished basement is thoughtfully set up as a play-based school environment, designed to encourage learning through exploration, creativity, structure, and routine. I’m currently seeking a flexible family who is comfortable with my two children (ages 4 and 1) being with me, and who is also understanding that I am expecting my third child. I am available for childcare in my home or yours and am looking for a position through August 2026. I am available for occasions, last minute sitting, date nights, late morning start Tues- Thurs.
