Hello! My name is Zoe, and I’m 24 years old. I recently graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor's in Psychology, and I just got accepted into a Master’s program for Clinical Mental Health Counselling at Palo Alto University. I have extensive experience working with infants, toddlers, and young children. I began working with a 6-year-old girl in 2021 for 6 months. I then transitioned to babysitting a 10-month-old girl in 2022 for 5 months, and then an 8-month-old girl in 2022. I have since watched the 8-month-old ever since (only occasionally nowadays), and she is currently 4 years old. The 8-month-old had an older brother whom I’ve watched from the ages of 2-6 years old and a younger sister whom I watched from the ages of 6 months to 2 years old. Within these timeframes, I’ve babysat/nannied for 4 other families with children ages 2 to 12, sometimes watching Read more 4 kids at a time. I have plenty of experience maintaining a safe environment for the children I watch, and have never had a single occurrence of injury on the job. I'm Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certified as well as certified in Water Safety for Parents and Caregivers. I’m also thoroughly familiar with changing diapers, feeding, and creating fun and engaging age-appropriate activities that also prioritize child development. To support skill acquisition in the children, I have strong experience as a Registered Behavior Technician, where I focused on helping children with special needs develop a variety of life skills, enhance prosocial behaviors, and eliminate ineffective behaviors. I do all of this with care, warmth, and encouragement. As someone who specializes in the mental health field, I am well aware of how our early years of development affect us downstream, and thus, I love creating a quality, enriching, stimulating, positive, and connection-driven environment for all I watch. I currently work as a Residential Counselor at a Residential Treatment Center for adolescents aged 12-17 struggling with mental health and substance use challenges, but as I transition into my Master's program, I'm looking for something that's less stressful and intensive. I promise that your child will be in great hands if you choose to go with me. I’ve found that I truly have a way with infants and children, and I’ve built some amazing bonds with the kids and families I’ve served. Working with children of all ages is a strong passion of mine, and I live for seeing their growth.
