I am a preschool paraeducator who would love to provide a fun, safe, and peaceful childcare experience for your family! I have been a mother for nineteen years and have four children ranging from elementary school to a high school graduate. I am an active person and I love the outdoors. For the past year, I have had the opportunity to work as a teaching assistant with our school district's preschool program. I work with children ages 3 to 5, and have experience with group and individual instruction as well as supervision. I am CPR certified and have a Maine DOE background check and Ed Tech 3 certification. I have extensive volunteer experience working with children and teenagers through our local church. I spent four years working as a music leader with children ages 18 months to 12 years. I also taught Sunday school to children ages 7 and 8 Read more for six months, and to teenagers ages 13 to 15 for three years. I have a bachelor's degree in Italian and have a functional understanding of Spanish. My own children are bright, kind, and respectful. My two oldest children are members of Mensa, and three of my children participate in our school district's gifted and talented program. All my children are musically talented, and my oldest two have participated for multiple years in honors band festivals. My children all participate in volunteer service opportunities with our church and community. I believe that the best experiences children can have are not found on screens. I believe in exploration, interaction, and conversation as the foundation of childhood learning and healthy emotional growth. I believe in helping children acknowledge and navigate strong emotions to help them make healthy choices in their actions and words. I strongly believe in the importance of musical education, and to that end, I play three instruments and sing in a choir. I am comfortable singing lullabies and listening to age appropriate music as requested. I work a second job as a housecleaner and have extensive experience in caring for cats, chickens, snakes, fish, and small mammals. I am comfortable with all pets, from large dogs to tarantulas. I do not smoke, drink, or use inappropriate language. I am a meticulously organized person in my personal and professional life. My most available time is between 8:30am and 4pm during the summer.
