Meet Makayla

Hi families! I'm currently a junior studying elementary education at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and I'm looking for a recurring babysitting or nanny position. I'm available Wednesday through Sunday, with Tuesday evenings also being an option when needed. I've been babysitting for my family since I was around 12 or 13 years old, and I've gained experience caring for children of different ages, from newborns and infants to toddlers and elementary-aged children. Through my elementary education program, I've continued to learn about child development and have also had the opportunity to work with middle school students. One of my favorite things about working with children is being someone they feel safe and comfortable around. I enjoy getting to know their personalities, encouraging their interests, and helping them improve academically. I love supporting children as they learn new things, build confidence, and explore the things they're passionate about. I recently earned Read more my Adult, Child, and Infant CPR/AED and Pediatric First Aid training certification, which has helped me build my qualifications as a caregiver. I'm excited to combine my hands-on babysitting experience with what I'm learning through my education program to provide children with a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
