Hi, I’m Vanessa! I’m an experienced nanny and private preschool teacher who truly enjoys caring for children and helping them learn, grow, and have fun. I currently work Monday through Thursday with a wonderful family in Ormond-by-the-Sea, caring for their toddler and newborn while also providing private preschool activities. Because of my current schedule, I have evenings and some weekend days available for occasional or regular babysitting. I have an Early Childhood Education diploma, 25+ years of babysitting and nanny experience, and 40+ hours of DCF training. I’m also CPR/First Aid trained, have my own reliable car and a clean driving record. I have extensive experience with toddlers and young children, including potty training, routines, age-appropriate learning, and keeping children engaged without relying heavily on screens. I prefer to minimize screen time and love doing crafts, sensory activities, reading, games, and educational activities that are appropriate for each child’s age Read more and interests. I’m happy to provide additional references, can complete a background check, and am comfortable caring for families with pets as long as they are not aggressive breeds. I’m also comfortable working in homes where parents work from home. I completely understand that parents may need to be nearby, but I do prefer to have the opportunity to handle normal situations and boundaries independently. Children naturally tend to run to Mom or Dad when they hear “no,” so I believe it’s important for them to learn that the caregiver’s rules and expectations still apply. I’m happy to handle everyday challenges myself and will absolutely let you know if I feel your involvement is needed. I’m dependable, patient, nurturing, and believe in creating a positive environment where children can have fun while learning and developing important skills.
