Hi, I’m Blair! Currently, I work full-time in research at the Rutgers School of Social Work; however, I have always had an affinity for working with children. I have 20+ years experience in various caretaking roles with toddlers, children, and adolescents of varying ages. I started babysitting and working as an assistant camp counselor at 12 years old. I continued to babysit for many families and work as a summer camp counselor through my teens, high school, and college. During my work and clinical experiences, I have worked with adolescent and child population in settings including the foster care system and schools. I have experience working one on one and in group oriented settings with children where I developed and implemented educational and recreational activities, engaged in conflict resolution, promoted self-esteem, utilized positive reinforcement, and modeled socially acceptable behaviors. The family I primarily babysat for during college and throughout my 20’s became like a second family to me—I started with them when their daughter was 3 years old and their son was 1.5 years old. Some of my happiest memories are with those children, having the privilege to watch them thrive and grow. I look forward to having opportunities to babysit again and to connect with more wonderful families! *I typically prefer to travel within 15 miles of home; however, I’m sometimes willing to drive within 25 miles if needed.
