Greetings! I'm Shana, and my approach to caring for children is rooted in advocacy, consent, and demonstrating healthy coping skills to promote resilience and growth. I place a strong emphasis on fostering positive connections and healthy relationships, both within the family and with the wider world. Nature, exploration, and mindfulness play significant roles in my life, and I cherish opportunities for creative expression through various activities like reading, playing board games, and outdoor adventures. I also enjoy visits to museums and igniting joy through singing and dancing. Regardless of the challenges, I firmly believe in uncovering moments of hope and happiness each day. Experience: Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of caring for an array of wonderful children, each with unique personalities and interests. My journey began at the age of thirteen when I assumed the role of nanny for my infant nephew, providing consistent support to my Read more brother and sister-in-law. Concurrently, I eagerly lent a hand at the Montessori school where my sister-in-law taught, gaining invaluable insights into child development and educational practices. Later in my teens, I began babysitting for children within my community, which included an exuberant four-year-old and my spirited toddler niece. During my sophomore year of college, I delved deeper into the realm of childcare by tutoring two siblings, aged 5 and 10, fostering their academic growth and personal development. I am currently looking to continue working with and caring for youth as I work towards a masters in Social Work.
