Hi! I'm Makayla - a childcare worker based in Brooklyn near the D train. I LOVE being a sitter because kids bring so much joy, and I love being someone that they feel safe and comfortable with while still having fun. I'm strongest with babies and toddlers, and I'm comfortable with means/snacks, diapering/potty support, naps, and keeping routines smooth and calm. I'm also open to elementary kids (K-2, sometimes 3rd grade) for after-school pickup, light homework help, and creative activities. I'm CPR & First Aid certified, and I've completed child abuse recognition and reporting training. I'm patient, upbeat, and I always keep parents updated. I commute by train/bus and prefer opportunities nearby, but I'm very open to reasonable commutes for the right fit with a family. I'd love to learn your child's routine and help make your day easier!

We had a wonderful experience with Makayla and I would not hesitate to have her care for my baby again. She is incredibly attentive and brings such a calm, nurturing presence. She connected with my 7-month old right away and was very in tune with age-appropriate milestones and activities, choosing toys and play that kept him engaged and supported for his development. She is warm, patient and clearly loves working with babies.
